Francis Taylor. Westminster Assembly divine and rector of Yalding, Kent. One of the working English Presbyterians throughout the Assembly's deliberations (1643–49). God's Covenant the Church's Plea (1645) grounded Presbyterian polity in the covenant of grace. A representative of the solid, less-celebrated divines who gave the Assembly its theological ballast.
