Robert Rollock

Robert Rollock (1555–1599) was a Scottish theologian and principal of the University of Edinburgh who played a formative role in establishing Reformed Protestant theology in Scotland during the late sixteenth century. His exegetical works, including his exposition of the Psalms, exemplified the Calvinist interpretive tradition and contributed significantly to the development of Scottish ecclesiastical thought during a period of religious transformation. Rollock's scholarly output and institutional leadership helped consolidate the theological foundations of the Scottish Kirk in its early decades.
