Author

Thomas Prince

Thomas Prince (1687–1758) was a prominent New England Congregationalist minister and historian whose theological writings emphasized divine providence in American colonial history. As pastor of the Old South Church in Boston and compiler of *The Righteous Acts of the Lord to New England*, Prince articulated a providentialist interpretation of New England's settlement and development that profoundly influenced colonial American religious thought. His work exemplified the Puritan intellectual tradition while adapting it to eighteenth-century concerns about the spiritual trajectory of New England society.
