Author
William Symington
William Symington (1795–1862) was a Scottish Free Church theologian and minister whose work emphasized Christ's mediatorial kingship and sovereignty in redemptive history. His most significant contribution, *Messiah the Prince: Or, the Mediatorial Dominion of Jesus Christ*, articulated a comprehensive theology of Christ's universal dominion that influenced nineteenth-century Reformed thought on Christology and ecclesiology. Symington's theological framework proved particularly influential among Scottish Presbyterian circles during the period of ecclesiastical disruption and doctrinal reassessment in the mid-nineteenth century.
