James Ussher. Archbishop of Armagh. Towering scholar. His Irish Articles (1615) were a direct precursor to the Westminster Confession. Respected by both sides in the Civil War — Cromwell gave him a state funeral. Bridge figure between conformist and Puritan worlds.
